Concept
Rounding up a group of 25-50 people in your school/university that are willing to wear a T shirt one day a week that features an cleverly design (disguised) ad.

To Do List
Do some research; find out how much local Banks, CC Companies, Companies that Hire A Lot spend on advertising.
Find a few friends to help you get it started, maybe start with a ground of 10-15
Create a proposal, “For $XX a month 15 students in my HS or College Campus will wear a T shirt featuring your ad one a week to school.
Create the ad tshirts

Benefits for the Advertisers
Kids notice what others wear, they will notice when many people are wearing the same thing and they will take that as “they shopped there, so should I”

Other
You will need a way to have your partners “check-in” when they wear the shirt
If it is done with college students, you may want to work out a deal with the advertisers where they can get their textbooks for free if they wear two shirts a week all semester
A contract will be needed in the event that “employees” don’t wear their shirt so there are rules/consequences attached

If you eventually get a bunch of listeners I think a forum would compliment the blog nicely. It would be cool to bounce ideas off you guys and other teen entrepreneurs and discuss what we're all up to.

This idea was a good one, given the right people, it could be huge.

I think that this was a great way of showing how to make some easy money by not really having to invest much money, and by not really having to do much work; except aquiring people to wear the shirts. Could you work the same thing out with a poster or other advertisements without having to pay other students, therefore boosting your own profits?

I personally think that the t-shirt idea might work. But if teenagers are wearing a shirt advertising somthing that might not interest a teenager than it has a possibilty that it won't be succesful.

This is a graet idea. I really want to go to Parsons new school of design and if i start a new clothing store then i can hand these out and have them be a fashion statment as well as a cool way to advertise. This is pretty simple and does the job thats needed.

I think this is a very good idea. However, if you are starting out with your new business, how are you supposed to earn the money to not only pay for the t shirts to be printed, but then to pay for a bunch of school dances or water park passes or thousands of text books on top of all of that?

I think the t-shirt idea would be great. If you have the right people and the numbers it could be a big success.

I think that's a very interesting idea. It's true the way advertising even on t-shirts affects people and it would prove to be a very interesting experiment to see how teens and college aged students would be affected by that type of masked advertisment.

I really liked your podcast. It gives other young entrepreneurs ideas and motivation to start their own small businesses. I think that the "walking ads" is fantastic idea and I hope many others will be inspired by it. Maybe you could do another podcast about other business and advertising ideas. -EF

I found this podcast to be very helpful with advertising and how to get your business more known. However, the business I would like to start, a clothing boutique, might not work so well with the "walking ads." Do you have any other ideas of how to get the opening of a boutique out in the open?

"Walking ads" is ingenious. I personally would have never thought about it but it seems very efficient. Especially at young ages where clothing and apparal is so important, it is a quick way to start a trend and get good advertisement. I especially liked the idea about the paying for college texbooks in exchange for wearing the t-shirts. Today, college is so expesive that any way to cut the costs is an extreme plus for students. I love this idea! C.H

This would be a very good idea if you could figuire out how to effectively manage it and organize it. Many people are strcuk by what they see other people wearing and if enough people were wearing the shirt or article of clothing then other people would follow. This could be a very nbice way of gaining publicity and advertisement for your compant or product.

i think that the idea would work quite well. people do pay attention to clothing and what others have on and around. when you think about it, its a new spin-off of an old idea. i would definatly not mind wearing a companys clothing for money

I think that it's a really good idea but in order to really have it be successful, you'd have to make sure that you have the right people advertising for you. If someone is advertising your business for you, but they're not a social person and wont necessarily be noticed then it's a waste of the company's money.

The idea is very common, making it very easy to use. In other words, it should be pretty easy to find someone willing to print t-shirts which allow you to advertise cheaply. All in all, a good idea, and very practical.

i thought this was a really good podcast, especially because my school is really big on having t-shirts for clubs and groups. This is also a really good way to make money quickly and pretty easily- and you get a free t-shirt!

Personally Gret, I think this is a fabulous idea and would be a great way to start a young/rudimentary business. I doubt it would lead young entrepreneurs to a high income but I suppose it is a good idea to promote a small business. Don't give up Gret!

You will find success!

It seems to be like a great idea, but I would be hesitant about whether it would work as well as planned. For instance, would the sponsor pay for your incentives to participants? It may also be more appealing to a company if you had many friends at a variety of schools and towns. This could spread more, or less because there is not as much density in the location of the shirts.

i think that is a good idea because many people like clothing and would pay attention to it. advertising on t-shirts is a great idea because people like to wear t-shirts.

i think it is a good idea for businesses to pay kids to wear shirts advertising for their company because teenagers always look to see what everyone else is doing because no one wants to be left out. im sure it helps business for the company. -J.C.
